NewStory Center Recognizes Pride Month: Honoring Identity, Celebrating Resilience
Each June, NewStory Center proudly joins individuals and organizations across the country in recognizing Pride Month — a time to honor the history, resilience, and ongoing struggle for justice and equality within the LGBTQ+ community.
Pride Month is more than a celebration — it’s a powerful reminder that all people, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, deserve to live free from violence, discrimination, and fear. For many LGBTQ+ individuals, especially those who are survivors of domestic or sexual violence, this freedom is not yet fully realized. That's why NewStory Center is committed to building inclusive, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered services that affirm and uplift all identities.
We recognize the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ survivors, who often encounter additional barriers to accessing safety and support — from fear of discrimination to lack of affirming housing or healthcare resources. Our advocates are trained to provide services that are culturally competent, identity-affirming, and rooted in the understanding that healing looks different for everyone.
This Pride Month, we recommit to:
-
Standing with LGBTQ+ survivors in their pursuit of justice, healing, and safety
-
Creating spaces where all identities are welcomed and affirmed
-
Listening, learning, and growing as allies and advocates for equity
-
Celebrating love, resilience, and the courage to live authentically
Whether you're out, questioning, or still finding your voice — you belong here. Your story matters, and we are here to walk alongside you.
From all of us at NewStory Center: Happy Pride. We see you. We celebrate you. We support you. 🏳️🌈💜
