NewStory Center also aims to shatter myths about domestic violence and sexual assault.

Some people think they should not seek help unless they have signs of physical abuse. However, there are many kinds of abuse including emotional, psychological, financial and sexual abuse

In addition, people sometimes avoid seeking help for fear that the police will get involved or that they will be forced to stay in a shelter. Victims of domestic violence and sexual assault who contact NewStory Center receive information regarding their options; they, however, make the decisions.

To date, NewStory Center has provided services and support to thousands of members of the community.
